So you were able to convince the wife that the BMW M5 Touring was the perfect vehicle to carry around the 2.5 kids, but the your bachelor buddies who don’t know a thing about cars are still teasing because you bought a wagon. What is an ulta-rich insecure soccer dad to do? It seems Japanese tuner Mitaka has your self esteem. The kit includes no performance parts because BMW is already pretty damn good at doing it themselves. Instead this program includes a new front bumper, new side (…)

Rumors about a small two-seat roadster based on the A-Class started to heat up again last week last week. What we heard then was that it was going to be based on Vision SLA concept. Now AutoCar has taken the lines of that concept car and reskined it to give an appearance closer to the rest of the Mercedes family. If this little roadster becomes a reality, it probably won’t see production before 2012. By then it should be in hot competition with Volkswagen/Audi’s future mid-engined (…)

We already knew that the 2009 GT-R will gain five more extra hp, but what we didn’t know is that Europe would get it first. But that’s okay, because this is the first time Europe gets to taste the GT-R, as it get officially launched there today. Europe’s Godzilla comes with a few more changes. Now stickier Dunlop SP Sport 600 DSST tires are standard. The GT-R is now offered in three different versions: standard, Premium edition and Black Edition. All come with price increased of 3.8 (…)

Subaru | 2009 | concept cars | Detroit Auto Show
The rumors have been going around for a while that Toyota and Subaru are going to team up to build a small Celica-sized coupe. It seems this may actually come together next month at the Detroit Auto Show. While some manufacturers are pulling out of Detroit, Subaru may be using this show to unveil its version of the small sports car. It would be unlikely that Subaru would deviate from its current theme of offering all cars with all-wheel drive, so this one should follow suit. Plus, by (…)

Mercedes considering two-seat roadster based on the A-Class

Mercedes | roadster | future cars | Mercedes SLAAs goes Volkswagen and BMW, so goes Mercedes. Since VW/Audi are going to make a small roadster and BMW is toying with the idea of a Z2, Mercedes doesn't want to be left out, and is exploring the idea of making its own roadster based on the A-Class. Mercedes already has a few design studies to work from, and it's looking back to the SLA concept from the Detroit Auto Show in 2000. "It is part of the regular new-model review at Mercedes-Benz to look at ideas from the past," a senior (…)

Jaguar | classic cars | Jaguar E-typeThe E-Type was the defining car for Jaguar. The sexy sports car kept Jaguar on the kid's bedroom walls for fourteen years. But when production ended in 1975, that wasn't the last chapter in the story. There were still spare parts at the Jaguar factory in England. They were sold off to a man who had plans for the spares. Unfortunately time caught up with the man, and the parts remained in storage. In steps Ray Parrot, a self-taught restorer and Jaguar fanatic. He bought the remaining (…)

2010 Mercedes E-Class spy shot

Mercedes | sedan | Spy Shots and Rendering | mercedes S-Class | luxury carsThere's an updated S-Class on the way for 2010, but as you can see from this spy shot, the cosmetic change is expected to be minimal. New bumpers, new LED side lamps, and facia design inspired by the Ocean Drive Concept. Although the engines won't change aside from the addition of a hybrid model, there could possibly be more under the skin. We haven't heard any firm rumors yet, but the S-Class is Mercedes' test bed for new technology. So hopefully this one will have an few fun new toys. (…)
